The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the
water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things
used to be. Here are some facts about the1500s:

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly
bath in May, and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they
were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to
hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet
when getting married.
Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of
the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the
other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of
all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually
lose someone in it. Hence the saying, Don't throw the baby out with
the Bath water..
Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood
underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all
the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof When
it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip
and fall off the roof. Hence the saying. It's raining cats and dogs
There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house.
This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other
droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big
posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's
how canopy beds came into existence.
The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than
dirt. Hence the saying, Dirt poor. The wealthy had slate floors that
would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh
(straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on,
they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all
start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the
entranceway. Hence the saying a thresh hold.
(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)
In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle
that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and
added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get
much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in
the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day.
Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a
while. Hence the rhyme, Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas
porridge in the pot nine days old.
Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite
special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to
show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, bring home the
bacon. They would cut off a little to share with guests and would
all sit around and chew the fat..
Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid
content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead
poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the
next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.
Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt
bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the
top, or the upper crust.
Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination
would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone
walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for
burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days
and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and
see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.
England is old and small and the local folks started running
out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and
would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When
reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have
scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying
people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the
corpse, lead it through the coffin a ND up through the ground and
tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all
night (the graveyard shift.) to listen for the bell; thus, someone
could be, saved by the bell or was considered a ...dead ringer..
And that's the truth...Now, whoever said History was boring !

Transformative Eclipse ~ A Powerful Turning Point and Solar Eclipse on September 11-2007

Hello Everyone

Has transformative change happened in you life this week?

It's worth noticing!
Frequently we merely absorb change, say goodo and move on.
This is a grand time indeed to monitor your growth.

As I wrote last week - my intuition tells me that the two weeks between the
(((((((((((((((full moon lunar eclipse of 28 August and the partial solar eclipse of September 11))))))))))))))))))
brackets a time of major changes and decision-making - Has this already begun for you?
I would be very pleased to hear from you ~ and if you wish ~
indicate whether you'd like me to post your changes on our website.

Anna and I had s-t-r-o-n-g and spectacular experiences on the lunar eclipse
which she has written about in a beautiful poem Total Eclipse of the Moon.

NOW is the time.
NOW is the time to listen to your Soul.
We are being fully supported to focus on what we are here to experience.
It's a turbo time for spiritual evolution.
It's a turbo time for growth.
Elegant endings and exciting beginnings.

A letter from Fif

Hi Cedar,

Yes, there certainly has!

One of the hardest things for me has always been to remain centred and steadfast in a decision I had made, when it meant that it would make someone unhappy or angry. You know the situation of being afraid that if you invoke someone’s displeasure, they might reject you, and not like or love you anymore. And you feel guilty or mean for having upset them. Or when sometimes people want you to take sides, which can make things very difficult when you like both parties and don’t want to lose either party as friends.

However, when I align myself with my true self, the whole thing becomes much easier, because I no longer think in terms of 'this person is wrong and that person is right’, I no longer have to think in terms of gratifying or protecting their egos, or my own, but rather I let myself be guided by my intuition to keep the conversation at the level of all inclusive and balanced love. As soon as it starts to deviate from that level (like getting into judging), I immediately feel very uncomfortable, and bring the conversation back again to that centred level. When you have that feeling to guide you, it's no longer scary to talk, because God is handling it. It becomes God in me talking to God in you.

I actually found myself in several situations like that recently and it was a huge relief to for the first time to be able to maintain this feeling of peace in myself, a kind of detachment, the stress and fear just dropped away! And I know that in doing that I might perhaps be instrumental in lifting others to that level and finding an all round better solution to the problem.

With love,
Fif

Later.....

Hi Cedar,

Yes, that was a big one for me!

I also experienced a deeper insight into 'duality' as opposed to 'oneness' on my walk the other morning. I had been doing a lot of pondering and meditating on this truth principle recently. What came to me was that the 'good and bad' in duality is like the pendulum swing, we so desperately try to get rid of the bad and obtain the good, however, once it's swung to the extreme on the 'good' side, it inevitably will have to swing back to the 'bad' side. So human good itself can only ever be a temporary respite from human bad.

As we progress and go up, the swings get shorter, till we get to the top where there no longer is a swing. That's when we have reached balance and harmony, which interprets itself in our lives as spiritual harmony. So many people think human good and spiritual good are the same thing and they are not.

When I shared this with a friend he said: To me it is the mind set we have that reaches the middle way that Budhha expressed so well. In other words we live in duality physically but reside mentally in peace which to me is the balance. Then decisions are made from the centre of oneself". This links back to my new experience in being able to deal with remaining steadfast with decisions I make.

I wrote about all this on my September blog.

Mystics all! (I like that)!

With love, Fif

Honeybees.

All over the world they are disappearing. Hives are empty, not even a dead bee to be found. Invader species refuse to take up residence in the old hives. No one seems to know why the bees are disappearing. What we do know is that 60% - 70% of all honeybee colonies are vacant. We realize that without honeybees the crops of fruits, nuts, corn etc do not become sufficiently pollinated to allow them to bear fruit. Read more, please: Linda Moulton Howe's EARTHFILES.

In the past we have called for such action when areas of the world were experiencing unbroken drought. People from all over the world joined together in giving Appreciation for Precipitation. As the Weather Spirits received this outpouring of love and gratitude they responded with a giving forth of rain!

It is now time to hold the honeybees in appreciation, to allow our pouring forth of gratitude to revivify and embrace back into the fold of life and sustainability our dear companions upon this planet: Honeybees!

Appreciation of Honeybees!

May 2, 2007

Shaman Jade Wah'oo Grigori says, "In whatever manner you are personally able, move your awareness into that of appreciation. Perhaps meditate upon someone for whom you have appreciation and gratitude, an event that stimulates a sense of deep gratitude.

When this is a felt-sense, a palpable experience within your body, disengage the object of your appreciation (the person or event) so that you remain in a non-attached state of appreciation. Draw into this state the image of honeybees.

Now bring in an association of how they sound, their buzzing about, their beauty and grace, the wonders of honey as a food and as a wonderful sweetener of life! Feel that joy rushing through your body as you contemplate the honeybee. Hold your awareness of Honeybees in this state of appreciation. Do so for as long as is 'right' for you.

When you are ready to stop, forcefully blow your breath into the image of the honeybee. This breath of life, sent in appreciation carries with it all your desire for blessing and positive life empowerment to be carried forth to the honeybee species."

If you feel called to do so, please gather in groups in your area and participate. Please send this to others. Together we can show our gratitude and together we are magnanimously powerful.

HONEY BEES

I have never felt so much gratitude for their presence ... as I did today, while walking in my yard on this lovely spring day. As I walked under the fruit trees in the yard, I saw honey bees, butterflies and ladybugs ... all a good omen as we contemplate the 'renewal of life'. And, I noticed some of the bees were youngsters ... which is also a good sign.

There is the saying we often take to heart ... Hope springs eternal. As I watched the little bees perform their sacred task of pollinating the flowers on the fruit trees today, several thoughts came to mind. May we envision all fruit trees in full blossom this year ... picturing abundance for the little honey bee. I really do believe the bee is the representation of ... LIFE.

Secondly, the bees and butterflies also receive pollen from the wild flowers which grow in our grass, often blossoming from that which we call weeds. Perhaps this year we can choose not to spray our weeds 'which produce flowers' with toxic weed killer. Perhaps this year we can let the weeds blossom naturally ... producing dandelion and other flowers which provide pollen and sustenance for the bees.

Now, that genetically engineered crops are killing the honey bee, we need to help the little guys out any way we can. Unless we save the honey bees, the organic and independent gardeners will no longer be. If this happens, Monsanto will own all crops on planet earth and gardening will become a memory of the past.

So, this year ... may we think about the little honey bee, as we do what we can to 'preserve life'.

Many blessings to us all, Ladyhawke

From Suzy Ward

MATTHEW: Thank you, Mother. Now let us talk about the honey bees.

S: Fine! Most people just asked why so many have disappeared, but some are wondering if this is linked to cell phone usage or chemtrails, and a few want to know what will happen to food production without the bees.

MATTHEW: Like all other life forms in your world, bees have been adversely affected by the various sources of pollution, but the "last straw" is the proliferation of electromagnetic waves from the increased numbers and usage of wireless communication instruments. Bees are strong in will and dedicated to their pollinating mission as they understand their important role in food production. They resisted leaving as long as they could, but ultimately their bodies became too fragile to continue viability against the onslaught of currents that are in conflict with their own energy systems.

The bees still flourishing where there are no, or many fewer, overhead electrical wires or cell phone towers eventually will instinctively populate in great numbers and many will migrate to other fertile areas when all pollutants on the planet have been eradicated. In the meantime, the Devic kingdom is helping to fill the cross-pollination gap by stepping up their interaction with the plant and animal kingdoms. Although fairies and leprechauns are the most popularly known, albeit mainly in fantasy stories, the beloved Devic kingdom is teeming with various-sized unseen life forms that fill myriad
essential roles that help Mother Nature thrive. Some of them are so tiny that they wouldn't be noticed, but others are the size of domestic cats or even larger, and their high vibrational levels afford the security they need in a world where far too often animal and plant souls still are treated as if they are merely things without intelligent consciousness and a spectrum of feelings. Although on occasion some Devas may be seen by especially energy-sensitive folks, at this juncture, their safety lies in their invisibility to most eyes.

S: The symbiotic aspects of all life forms on Earth are really amazing! So the Devas filling in for the bees means that there won't be the dire food shortages that some are expecting?

MATTHEW: Not from lack of pollination, Mother, but until all the greed and wasteful and hoarding inclinations in humankind no longer are part of the make-up, millions will continue to die from starvation and disease due to malnutrition. But that is coming to an end too, along with all the other grievous circumstance still affecting and ending so
many, many lives.
