Celebrating Our Winter/Summer Solstice - June 21, 2009

It is soon to be winter in the southern hemisphere and summer in the northern hemisphere.
We have a tradition at Celtic Gardens to plan our new season's Dreamings on the solstices and equinoxes.
This focusses us - for the next three months - for renewal and reinvention of ourselves and our world.

We are honoured to be in the midst of an accelerated period of change on Earth and we are curious as to what humans will create this season. A positive way forward is to forgive and forget past discretions by yourself and others - every painful memory is like a brick that blocks us from a life of pure love, laughter and learning. Some carry hundreds of toxic bricks around daily. Here's a forgiveness prayer that helps release these blockages to growth and joy.

Prayer of Forgiveness

I bless this day and give thanks for my life
I forgive completely all people who have hurt me
I ask all people I have hurt to please forgive me
I apologise to myself for my wrongs to myself
And my wrongs to others
I apologise for all my hurts or wrongs to all life forms
With this release, freedom, peace, power and new life,
I bless all creation in the entire universe
And I fill the entire universe with my love
I love and bless the Earth, all life and all humanity
I love, bless and respect the visible and the invisible
I celebrate and give thanks for my new life, power and health

Celtic Gardens Solstice Candle Ritual

Position a candle at eye height and light it.
Gaze into the flame at the tip of the wick for 5 or 10 minutes.
Allow the room to disappear.
Clear your mind.
Trance.
A doorway may appear at the wick after about 10 minutes.
Hold your attention there at the doorway or on the flame within the flame.
If thoughts appear, just let them drift by and refocus on the flame.

Then after these 10 minutes,
close your eyes and imagine the flame visible in your third eye.
As you gaze at it from within your third eye space,
bring the image of what you desire to become - your new self -
into this space.

Hold this image of your new self and let it evolve and reveal all its flavours to you.
If unrelated thoughts come up - just refocus.

Step fully into your New Illumined Life.
Continue with eyes closed anchoring how it feels to be this new self
for another 10 minutes or so.
Continue embroidering your new self.
When your transformation is fully anchored - open your eyes.

Draw a symbol that represents you -
now transformed and display it in your home.
You are transformed as your new self shines with power and translucence.

Your symbol is the reminder of this transformation.
Look at your symbol daily to confirm your new self
until it is completely anchored in your life.

Scrupulously monitor the changes.

Celebrate the changes that have been made in your life
~ all your reprogrammed decisions and attitudes support your bliss.

A song of Peace and Creation, sung into the waters of our living planet. Over a 24 hour period, this song will circle the globe, growing and evolving as it moves through sound circles and gatherings in many lands before culminating at 3pm USA PST (11pm GMT / 8am AUS east coast time June 22) as people all around the world come together in one great harmony!

CERES Yule Celebration

Renowned shadow puppeteers “Stories from the Ground” have created a special solstice piece “The Longest Shadow”. The audience will create a spiral dance, at the precise moment of the solstice, mimicking the movement of the sun and the completion of the cycle of the seasons as part of the Yule (wheel) ritual.

10 Billion Beats Friday Sept. 18, 2009, 7:00 PM

Since the beginning of human history, drums have been used to call people together, to communicate across great distances, to rise in celebration, and to march together in common cause. Drums of one form or another are found in every culture and are used in spiritual traditions for a variety of purposes. No matter whether they are played in an indigenous ceremony, a rock band, or a parade, they bring our consciousness together with a common pulse.

Greenland Event July 17 -19, 2009
25 kilometers east from the town of Kangerlussuaq on the west coast of Greenland.

The Fire & Ice Ceremony for the Earth is held in a traditional Eskimo-Kalaallittupeq-tipi and tent encampment by the large lake of AajuittupTasersua near the Icecap. The daily agenda for the gathering follows traditional ceremonial protocol with the fire pit being the center of activities. The primary festivities include the reunion of the Elders, the ceremonial return of the Sacred Fire, deliberations and prayers revolving around the ice, as well as feasting, celebration and a traditional Paggattittineq, a Give-away ceremony.
